Casemiro scored for Brazil on Saturday night as the Selecao beat Senegal 2-0 in an international friendly at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in London, with both sides having already secured qualification for the World Cup next summer.
Casemiro has been in fine form so far this season, earning the trust of Ruben Amorim with a series of strong displays which have led to him becoming one of the first names on the team-sheet, with the Red Devils seeing a significant drop-off in midfield whenever he is not on the pitch.
His influence for his native Brazil was also evident on Saturday, as he started alongside club team-mate Matheus Cunha, who struck the foot of the post in his 65 minutes before being replaced by Joao Pedro.
United new boy Lammens made to wait for debut in Belgium draw
Meanwhile in Kazakhstan, United No.1 Senne Lammens was forced to wait a little longer for his Belgium debut as the 23-year-old was benched for Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels in their 1-1 draw.
Lammens has shone since signing for the Red Devils an a reported £18.1million deal from Royal Antwerp in the summer, starting the last five Premier League games and not yet ending up on the losing side. But this was not enough for Claude Fichaux to reward him with a senior international debut on Saturday
