Ingredients

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Dr. Pepper regular, not diet
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the sugar until fully incorporated.
  • Mix in Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add Dr. Pepper: Pour in the Dr. Pepper and mix well. The batter may appear slightly loose; this is normal.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
  • Add Chocolate Chips (Optional): Fold in mini chocolate chips for an extra layer of gooey chocolate.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes. For cleaner cuts, refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing into squares.
