  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • Purple gel food coloring optional

For the Grape Frosting:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp grape juice
  • ½ tsp grape extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Purple gel food coloring optional
  • Crushed grape candy for topping

Instructions
 

For the Cupcakes:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add Eggs and Flavoring: Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in grape juice, grape extract, and vanilla extract.
  • Add Dry Ingredients and Milk: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Stir until just combined. Add food coloring if desired.
  • Fill Liners: Spoon batter into cupcake liners, filling about 2/3 full.
  • Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

For the Frosting:

  • Beat Butter: In a large bowl, beat butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Add Sugar and Flavoring: Gradually mix in powdered sugar, grape juice, grape extract, and a pinch of salt.
  • Color and Fluff: Add food coloring (optional) and beat until frosting is fluffy and smooth.
  • Frost: Pipe or spread onto cooled cupcakes and top with crushed grape candy for extra texture and flair.
