- 1 cup granulated sugar plus extra for sprinkling
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or cast iron skillet.
