Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Molten Filling:

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract

Optional Toppings:

  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Shaved chocolate or sprinkles

Instructions

Prepare the Molten Filling:

  • In a heatproof bowl, combine chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring in between until melted and smooth. Add vanilla extract, then spoon into small mounds on parchment paper. Freeze for 30 minutes.

Make the Cookie Dough:

  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet until a dough forms.

Assemble the Cookies:

  • Scoop out a tablespoon of dough, flatten it in your palm, place a frozen filling mound in the center, and top with another tablespoon of dough. Seal the edges and roll into a ball.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake cookies for 10–12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers are soft.

Cool & Serve:

  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar or add marshmallows. Enjoy warm for best molten effect
